4 Ideas to Recycle Your Jewellery
Posted on 24 August 2017
As much as we would like our jewellery to last through eternity, time takes its toll. But just because they loose a bit of their charm, it doesn't mean that we can't recycle them!
Here are four ideas to give your favourite jewellery a second chance to shine!
1. Sell them
If you own gold, platinum or silver jewellery you can sell them to goldsmiths for good money. Precious metals are melted, then used to make new jewellery.
You could also earn good money by selling jewellery with precious stones like emeralds, rubies or sapphires. Try selling them at antique shops!
2. Transform them into different jewellery
Do you have a broken or rusty necklace that has an interesting pendant? Use it as a brooch or pin!
Do you own a pair of earrings with a closing system that is broken? Or maybe an earring that lost its pair? Attach it to a necklace and there you have it, a new pendant!
3. Use them as spare parts
If you dislike your jewellery profoundly, or it is that damaged beyond repair, then at least save the clasps of earrings, bracelets or necklaces because they will certainly come in handy in the future.
4. Donate them
The most noble thing you can do is donate the jewellery you don't use anymore to charity organisations or charitable stores. The profit made from those sales will mean the world to people in dire need, while you will enjoy a less cluttered jewellery box.
